What is a custom book embosser?

A custom book embosser is a hand-press embosser stamp with your own seal engraved on a solid brass plate. Press it onto a book's title page and it leaves a raised, ink-free mark, like a library embosser or a modern ex libris. Pick one of our designs or describe your own idea, and we draft your custom embosser design at no extra cost. You approve a proof before we engrave it.

Can I have a fully custom design?

Yes. Describe your idea, upload a picture or pick a starting design, and we'll draft it for you. Fully custom designs cost the same as our ready-made ones, and you approve a proof before anything is engraved.

How big is the impression?

42 mm (1.7 in) across. Slide it on from the bottom edge of the page: it reaches up to 60 mm (2.4 in) in, so your seal sits neatly in the lower part of a title page or endpaper.

What paper does it work on?

Paper from 80 to 150 gsm: most book pages, journals, notecards and envelopes. Very thick card and glossy paper won't take a crisp impression.

How do I get a crisp impression?

Slide it on from the bottom edge so the whole seal sits on the paper, then give the handle one smooth, full squeeze. Practise on the gold stickers first.

Will I see my design before it's made?

Yes. You see a live preview as you design it, and after you order we email you your design to check. If anything needs changing, just reply to that email.

Does it arrive ready to use?

It arrives in two parts with instructions: clip the plate in, then press. A travel case and 50 gold stickers come with it.

How long does delivery take?

Each embosser is made to order and ships within about 3 days, then delivery takes 3 to 7 business days, wherever you are. Shipping is free and tracked.

Can I change my design later?

Yes. Add an extra design clip with a second design. Clips swap in and out of the same handle.

Will it damage my books?

No. It raises the paper rather than cutting it, so the page stays whole.

What if there's a problem?

Our 90-day guarantee covers any fault with your embosser or its impression. Reply to your order email and we'll put it right.

An embosser leaves a raised, ink-free seal that never smudges, so it suits books, journals and stationery. Our custom self-inking stamp prints your design in ink, which works well for photos, pets and logos. Many readers use the embosser for favorite books and a stamp for everyday paperbacks.
