A custom logo stamp is one of the cheapest ways for a small business to brand its packaging. One stamp marks hundreds of kraft mailers, tissue seals, thank-you cards and loyalty cards, with no printing order and no minimum quantity. The key is a logo that survives being printed in a single ink at stamp size: bold shapes, few thin lines and short words.
Here is how to get a crisp result, and where a logo stamp earns its keep.
Will my logo work as a stamp?
Most logos do, with a little simplifying. A stamp prints one colour, so think of your logo as a silhouette:
- Colours become one ink. A logo that relies on two colours side by side may need an outline or a gap between the parts.
- Gradients and shadows disappear. They print as solid ink or not at all.
- Hairlines fill in or vanish. Very thin strokes and tiny lettering are the first things to go.
- Short text prints best. A business name and maybe one more word. Taglines usually need to come off.
When you upload your logo to our custom self-inking stamp designer, it is redrawn as a one-ink stamp, and you see the result in a free live preview before you pay. If the preview looks busy, try a simpler version of the logo, such as the icon on its own.
What file should I upload?
The clearest version you have. A large PNG or JPG with a plain background works well. Avoid screenshots of tiny logos and photos taken at an angle. If you have a black or one-colour version of your logo, use that: it is closest to how the stamp will print. Please only upload logos you have the right to use.
Which size?
Our stamps are round, in 40 mm (1.6 in) and 50 mm (2 in). For a logo with any detail, or a logo plus words around the edge, choose 50 mm. A simple icon or monogram works at 40 mm.
Where do small businesses use them?
| Where | Why it works |
|---|---|
| Kraft mailers and boxes | Branded packaging without a print run |
| Tissue paper seals and stickers | Stamp plain labels as you pack |
| Thank-you and care cards | A personal touch in every parcel |
| Loyalty cards | Stamp the card itself, or each visit |
| Paper bags and swing tags | Markets, pop-ups and craft fairs |
| Invoices and receipts | A quick "Paid" or "Thank you" with your mark |
Which ink colour?
Black is the clearest on kraft and white. Red stands out on plain brown packaging. Blue looks softer on cards. Our stamps come in black, blue or red ink, in a black or red case. They work on paper, card and kraft. Glossy and plastic packaging doesn't hold ink well, so stamp a paper label for those.
A few questions worth answering
Can I order several designs?
Yes. Each stamp in an order can have its own design, for example your logo, a "Thank you" stamp and a return address, and more than one stamp costs less each.
How long does it take?
Each stamp is made to order and ships in about 3 days once you have approved the design. Delivery takes 3 to 7 business days, with free tracked shipping.
Will I see the design before it's made?
Yes. You see a live preview as you design, and after you order we email you the design to check. Reply to that email if anything needs changing.
What happens when the ink runs low?
The stamp re-inks itself with every press. When the print starts to fade, click in a spare ink pad. You can add one with your stamp or buy a refill pack later.
